About Me

After a lifetime interest in wild plants, herbs and health matters I graduated with a BSc degree in Herbal Medicine in 2002 and have been practicing as a Medical Herbalist in the Tralee area ever since. I currently have my clinic in my home in Stacksmountain, Kilflynn where I give consultations and dispense herbal remedies to help with a wide range of conditions.
Herbal medicine has been used in Ireland for generations and is just as effective today as it was a thousand years ago. Better knowledge of the human body and modern scientific investigations are now used to try to understand how herbs work giving the herbalist improved insight into the best treatment strategies.
Many of the herbs I use are common plants, both cultivated and wild, and many are thought of a ‘just weeds’ and often pulled up and thrown out without a thought of the variety of uses they may have; plants like the common dandelion, nettles or chickweed are invaluable to the herbalist.
I use many of the herbs from my garden and when I have to buy in herbs I try to source either organically grown or sustainably harvested herbs, I also recycle bottles and other packaging as possible to reduce waste,

A range of herbal remedies such as herbal teas, creams, tinctures and syrups are available for sale at my clinic. I also stock a range of nutritional supplements.
